Day 541: Occasional Omens
Day 541: 9 September 2022, Friday
‘Are signs and omens real?’ What kind of question is that? Reality is (not) what we make of it. Every projection is a whole new circus. If you live life trying to ‘be somebody,’ being somebody who’s just like everyone else, then you end up living a life without potential, you see and feel and taste only what you want to see and feel and taste. What we see is a reflection of who we think we are. Very rarely ever the whole picture, not all at once, but in flickers, drips here and there, a stroke up, a stroke down, flashes of lightning, bread crumbs through the woods, a steady progression of truth, the unraveling of the mind.
‘So, are signs and omens real?’ Answer truthfully: do you care? Do you want them to be real? You will find the answer in your own reflection.
‘Synchronicity is the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that cannot be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer.’
Carl Jung, Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle
The immediate answer for most any circumstantial question: It depends.
‘At various points in our lives, or on a quest, and for reasons that often remain obscure, we are driven to make decisions which prove with hindsight to be loaded with meaning.’
Sri S. Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali
